Hi. I don't know if I'm in the right place or not, but thought I'd give it a try.
I just bought a microsoft wireless optical keyboard and mouse for my computer. I have windows xp and everything that I need that I'm aware of. I installed the software onto my computer and then restarted my computer when promted to do so. Then I was instructed to shut down my computer and plug in the wireless receiver to my computer. I did so, and when I restarted my computer I could get neither the mouse or keyboard to work. I placed the reciever away from my computer and monitor and speakers, so as not to cause interference. Can anyone tell me if I'm doing something wrong or possibly direct me to a place that could help? Thanks!

Are batteries in both devices? Did you push the button on the receiver to detect them? Is the light on the optical mouse illuminated?

I'd just connect a regular wired keyboard, boot up, and then connect the receiver. The devices should be detected and installed.
