the specs of my computer are
2.8 ghz p4
asus p800s
audigy 2
visiontek 9600 128 mb
wd 80 gb 7200 rpm
samsung cd- rw
kingston 512 mb hyper x

i wanted to know wat are the best upgrades i can get for about 350
i was thinking
thermaltake spark 7+ xaser edition 25.00
sapphire 9800 pro 128 210.00
nec dvd-rw 90.00
vantec neus fan controller 20.00

What you are getting is pretty good stuff.
You didn't mention your power supply though.
I hope you have enough wattage to support all of the new upgrades.
You don't really need the new heatsink unless you are planning on overclocking.
You have a great motherboard to do so!

And your video card is good enough for now.
I'd wait till' the end of the year when PCI Express and BTX cases come out and go that route.

my powersupply is the antec 400w and i am thinkg of overclocking a bit and getting a pci slot fan because the card kind of heat up and i was jud wondering if 43 degree celcius is a good boot temp

Yeah, mine is OC and it ran about 46 at boot when it was air cooled.
A PCI fan helped my Video card ALOT!
If I shut it off my card will overheat in about 2 minutes of gaming.

If you are overclocking and do not want alot of noise Zalman makes a cool flowered CPU cooler that has a 80mm fan that mounts to your PCI slot screws and will keep it nice and chilly.
If you have a socket 478 get the all copper one.
If you have a socket 423 get the copper / aluminum one.

And I'm sure you know...always use Acrilic Silver and you also may want to lap down the next heatsink you purchase for the best contact

will prices go down on agp cards as pci express cards come in? if so should i wait on getting the 9800 pro
