Hi. I have some malware but I cant seem to detect what kind or how to get rid of it.

AVG Free found a Trojan YGC or YKM. I can't remmeber. But it was Generic.

Well they got removed sucessfully anyhow. But it indicates further problems.

Well. The thing is, Sysprotect popups come. I do not have Sysprotect on the system but, the popups come to tell me to get it. Not freq either. Barley ever. But they do come. If that was worth mentioning.

    Symptoms:

cannot open Iexplore.exe. It does not show up in processes. It just does not come up. I cannot go into Control Panel,My Computer,My Documents. Basically I cant explore any files.

Infact. Explorer.exe closes itself and then reopens. And does not open anything I clicked previous.

IT does not do it in safe mode though.

Here's an example of Sysprotect popup. Very Very seldom. But I got a screenshot:

*in case it dint go through*

    And HiJack this:

(Sorry but when I click savelog in HJT, it dont save it to anywhere)

but click there to view it.

Please do not send me off on an ewido scan or anything. Its not going to do anything or give anymore info then HJT.

    Hi again.

This is strange. When I install or remove any application things seem to function. Its as if it resets the infection. Then it will go back to normal.

I just downloaded and install Mozzilla and now everything works again.

But this isnt the first time. first time it happend I removed ad-aware and everything worked. Then it started happening again so I removed spybot. Everything worked.

Then later on, same problems. I reinstalled the applications and things worked again. Now I install mozilla and it works.

    Hi, Welcome to TSG!!

    Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.

Double click on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.
Continue to click Next in the setup dialogue boxes until you get to the Select Addition Tasks dialogue.
Put a check by Create a desktop icon then click Next again.
Continue to follow the rest of the prompts from there.
At the final dialogue box click Finish and it will launch Hijack This.
Click on the Do a system scan and save a log file button. It will scan and then ask you to save the log.
Click Save to save the log file and then the log will open in notepad.
Click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" to copy the entire contents of the log.
Come back here to this thread and Paste the log in your next reply.
DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
