Below is a log from my machine.

Anyone see any issues? I've got some new GPS mapping software I've installed and it won't run. I've uninstalled, reinstalled....nuttin'. Wondering if it's something else.

    Thanks.

In Hijack This, check ALL of the following items. Double check so as to be sure not to miss a single one.
Next, close all browser Windows, and have HT fix all checked.

I can't find anything on this program. If it were a legit program there should be several hits on google or other search engines.

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Extreme Messenger for AIM] C:\Program Files\Extreme Messenger\ExtremeMessenger.exe nosplash

IF you are running ME or XP Disable SYSTEM RESTORE : How to disable or enable System Restore in Windows ME

How to disable or enable System Restore in Windows XP

Next reboot into Safe Mode and remove the following files and folders that are bolded

    C:\PROGRAM FILES\AWS\WEATHERBUG\WEATHER.EXE 1

    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ntvdscm.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\System32\ipmon.exe
    C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe 1

See here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406 for how to start in safe mode if you don't know how.

    Reboot into normal mode.

You have at the very minimum several left over's from a virus or two.
Before you re-enable system restore I would strongly recommend that you do an online virus scan at least one and preferably 2 of the following sites:

    http://security.symantec.com/default.asp?
    http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
    http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan/

RE-ENABLE SYSTEM RESTORE and create a NEW restore point

Now download Spybot - Search & Destroy (if you haven't got the program installed already)

After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates.

Next, close all Internet Explorer windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove/fix all it finds that are in RED

    Reboot

Last, run HJT again and post your log again to see if anything was missed.

    Thanks

Thanks NiteHawk. I'll get to work on it right away. My friend can help me to because he is good with computers. Also, do you know any good ways I can get rid of my lag. I lag a lot in computer games. One of the problems is that i have a wireless internet connection called Linksys. I appreciate all the help you give and have given.

    Thanks.

Thanks BlueSpruce, that one missed getting pasted into the "delete these files" section. Strange, it was there on the scratch "work sheet". At least it got caught and is going to get deleted. (y)

Yes, delete that one as well, it is a dialer. Most likely a very expensive dialer to a porn site. You might also want to check your phone bills.

One last post before I'm off to bed. When I go to Control Panel/Add:Remove Programs/ and go to the program i want to remove some of the programs can't be deleted and an error message pops up that says "Window's cannont find INSTALL.LOG". How do I fix that? Thank you for all of your help
