    Need help please

I am running Windows XP SP2, and I am having 2 problems, my first problem is when I try to run disk defrag, nothing happens, I click analyze, or defrag and the program does not do any thing. I checked the microsoft website, and could not find any help for this. my 2nd problem is with Windows Installer, when I try to install a program, I get a error message that states: "The windows installer service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running windows in safe mode, or windows installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance". I followed the instruction on the microsoft website, for this problem, I added the link below, but this did not help.

    Windows installer help

    Please Help

    Thanks

Might possibly be another Services issue. Check out www.blackviper.com and compare your services to his list to see if any other are Disabled.
