I’m looking for assistance for a friend. She has a HP compaq F572US laptop, dual core, vista home premium, 1 GB RAM..

She’s receiving a checkered bluish screen. She had a maxtor external HDD in a USB as well as a ready boost stick and a cordless mouse and removed these as well before trying to boot again. This has happened just a couple of times before, then after shutting it down by holding down the power button and restarting, everything was fine.

She tried again but it won't boot at all. the blue LED etc power lights are on with a black screen and nothing happening other than the little blue lights staying on and going off at intervals. She tried removing the battery and tried booting but no go. She let it sit for 20 mins before trying to boot as suggested, but no go. Can anyone offer some assistance for something else we can try to get this laptop back up and running.

    Thanks in advance…MackAtMidnite
