Hey, so for a long time my family has been using a wireless router (D-Link Model: WBR-1310) I have a laptop, and now an Xbox, and my parents use an acer PC in the room next to mine for their own personal use. I set up the wireless router last yearish, and at that time I didn't put a password on it, although I thought I did. Now I am trying to make this network a security enabled network. (right now it is open and available to all users)

I reseted the router first of course, and then I went into network settings and renamed the network and put a password on it. At the same time I had my laptop on. Both connections were lost and then the one for my parents PC has now come back. But now I cannot connect at all with my laptop or Xbox, and I don't know what to do. Can anybody help me figure this out? I just want to make it so that our wireless connection is safe and secure, it seems changing the network properties on my laptop and pressing connect a thousand times hasn't done anything...

When you try to connect to the now-secure wireless network, are you prompted to enter a password?

I reset the router on the PC and went into the PC and did all of the changing under
Control Panel > Wireless Network Setup
And right away my PC got an internet connection. As for my laptop, the old nextwork I was using that was unprotected is still up there, a dlink network has popped up and im using it but its only for a lease... Nothing else is available for connection. :(

I Just set my wireless connections through the D-Link website. I then added my laptop manually to the network using the information I took down.
I clicked Network and Sharing Centre > Manage Wireless Connections
and the new network I just set up is there. But when I try to connect to a network regularly it wont show up..... What do I do?! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
