Here's my story. I have been using a wireless comcast connection, WAP protected just fine for about a month. I left town for a week, came back and suddenly I had "network connectivty problems" on my home network. Ok, I thought, would just use my neighbor's unsecured connection that night. Worked fine, but the next day, when I booted my computer, I suddenly had "network connectivy problems" with that connection too.

Thinking it was my computer, I went to a public library - connect to their wireless, no problem. Came back, suddenly I could connect to my neighbor's again - until I restarted later.

I have called Comcast, no help.

This is what I HAVE done:
    1. Power cycled router, maybe eight times.
    2. bought a ethernet chord, and connected to my home, no problem.
    3. reset winsock, resstarted.

Now, my attempts to connect to the wireless network get hung up on "Identifying" and then reluctantly turn to "Limited activity" with no packets being received.

I'm really at a loss and tearing out my hair. can anyone help???

Here's my IPconfig as of now:

Please post an IPCONFIG /ALL, much of the information is missing from that post.

Thanks, I'm sorry I didn't do that to begin with.

Other details to mention: I tried to release/renew, but I can't contact dhcp. Tried assigning static IP, and no luck there either.

What is the exact make/model of the modem and the wireless router?

Some things you can try here.

    1. For wireless connections, change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6, and 11 in the US.
    2. For wireless connections, try moving either the wireless router/AP or the wireless computer. Even a couple of feet will sometimes make a big difference.
    3. Update the firmware to the latest version available on the manufacturer's site.
    4. Reset the router to factory defaults and reconfigure.

Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.
