    1. I have an open request for help here since March 9, http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/908762-performance-hit-recently.html

and I'm not sure it's malware, or hardware related. I'd like some help just brainstorming possibilities on what to try to solve my problem.

    2. Also, I have a general question about Windows CDs and DVDs. I frequently have to reinstall the OS, and given the infections I'm finding, some systems are not bootable without a bluescreen or some other block. Is there an ISO to boot from a CD or DVD long enough to get to the user data and copy it off before format & reinstall of windows?

    3. One last question: It it possible to copy the install CD or DVD to a thumb drive and boot from there? I'd rather carry around various hard drives to be able to reinstall a particular version of Windows, than my precious CDs and DVDs.

Thanks for your help & consideration...
