I've never used Mozilla Firefox, so I can't tell you anything about it.

Is there a reason why you're still using the ORIGINAL version of Windows XP(over 4 years old) and haven't upgraded to SP1 or SP2?

There are several programs running in the background that don't need to be, but it's something that can wait and be dealt with later.

(This should've been posted in the "Windows NT/2000/XP" section and NOT the "Windows 95/98/ME" section)

    HELLO,

So sorry there yes I am running the windows xp but didnt realize that I had posted this in the wrong section on this. I didnt realize that I was running a old version of windows xp however. How would I be able to get the updated version for that as you mentioned
SP1 or SP2?? And you also mentioned I have other things running in the background, please do help me on that as well then as I didnt realize that either, I was really concerned with this highjack log as well that I posted here , can you please if you can tell me if anything looks bad in there as well that I might need to delete or take out of there or does that in itself look ok to you?

AND please if you need to move this thread then over to the correct section please do so and I will follow up from there instead of here. I am sorry for that error there on the posting it here instead of the windows xp section

I will await your reply back if you can further assist me with this really would appreciate it.

If one of the Moderators decides to move it to the correct section, they'll advise you, otherwise we'll deal with it here.

When is the last time that you've been to the Windows Updates site and done a scan there? There should be a link to it in the Start menu. If not, just open Internet Explorer and then click Tools - Windows Updates. You have to be connected to the Internet before you do this. The scan should detect that you don't have SP1 or SP2 installed.

The SP2 upgrade is about 270 MB, so unless you have a high-speed connection, you should order the CD from Microsoft. It's free of charge and should get to you within a week. You can order it on-line from here.
