Hi out there. I am panicking. I am trying to enter a song contest and recorded a song I wrote at a studio today to bring home on a CD and load into computer and then convert to MP3 somehow. It will play my CD through Music Match Jukebox or Windows media player, but I can't find a way to save it first and call it a WAV file so that I can then figure out someway to convert it to MP3. I have been writing my whole life, but really was inspired to write this song and I am afraid I may be unable to do what is needed to load/save/and covert to MP3. I loaded a WAVE program and thought that would do it, but it has not. If you could help me, anyone!!!!!!!!!!!! , It would help me so very much. Thank you and God bless you. Tara Leigh
Thank you so much Chuck. That was very kind of you to write. I am currently loading the new Windows Media Player 9 for 2000 version to my computer and it seems like this will make it possible to load the CD and possibly convert to MP3. I would not have been able to find it if not for your help. Thank you very much and have a very great weekend. I will try to let you know if it works.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess it is almost time for a new computer, huh? God bless you. Tara

Q. Can I rip music from my CDs and convert the music into MP3 format?
A. Yes, if you upgrade to Windows Media Player 10 or later. For Windows Media Player 9 Series, you can rip to the MP3 format by obtaining an MP3 encoder pack. To get the encoder pack, see MP3 Creation Plug-ins. (If you experience trouble ripping to MP3 format, check for an updated version of the MP3 encoder pack from the same Web page.)
