I have Windows XP 2000, Dell Demension 2400 PC, I want to put pictures on websites, but my pictures (KB) are to large. How do I reduce them so I can post?

Thanks,

First off, the file type of the picture is .jpg, correct?

Two ways you can reduce the file size.

1. Make the picture smaller (instead of it being something like 1024x768, make it 800x600).

2. What I usually do is simply open the picture using Microsoft Paint, and then just hit CNTRL+S (to save it). Don't have to edit it or do anything to it, simply open it up and save it. On average, just doing that reduces my filesizes to about 1/4 of what they were before.

Paint is still probably the simplest way to reduce file size without having to actually resize the image.
