need two windows open

Ok, this is probably going to sound dumb. How can I have two windows open at the same time? I'd like to be able to see what I'm working with on my desktop and also be able to read something online. A split screen with both windows open I guess. I'm using IE browser & have XP OS

Open the two windows you wish to view.
Right click your taskbar an select "tile windows...."
