    Hi Everyone

This is driving me crazy almost for whole week.

When i try to burn Data DVD with Nero In most of the AVI files i get video codec not supported.
And i have reinstalled my PC because of this but no luck.

I'm using windows XP MEDIA CENTER EDITION 2005
I get sound but no picture.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

And i try to update reinstall Nero but nothing worked

Merry Christmas and Happy 2011 everyone!

When do you get the error message? Burning a 'data' DVD does not involve codecs.

Do you mean that you cannot play them?
    With what media player?

You can get the necessary codecs for your media player or use one that includes the necessary codecs.

VLC Player should be able to play them without installing any codecs.

Or, use Gspot to find out what codecs are needed, then find and install them.

Try VLC Player OR find out what codecs are needed.

Do you mean the DVD player attached to your TV?
    What's the make and model?

They don't play ALL avi files. It depends on which codecs were used to create the AVI. Use Gspot to determine the codecs of the AVI files. Then check the specs of your player. A list of players and their supported files can be found here:http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

    thank you for your replay

Yes my dvd player attached to my tv

I don't believe that would be the issue since i gave dvd to my mother and she told me there is sound but no picture...

So it same when i tried to check on my dvd player

    thank you

If you can play that DVD on your computer, but not a DVD player, and it gives no READ errors, it is most likely a codec problem.

Run Gspot on the avi file, and post what video codec is used.
