I burned my first CD-R using Nero. Selected ISO CD and clicked on data CD. Burned a large number of photo images in JPG format. When finished went back and tried to view the recorded images with my graphics viewer. Unable to read the header was the message by the viewer. Any ideas what went wrong?

    Welcome to TSG

Try selecting “Data CD” from the opening window and go with the defaults. Nero has a special “image” capability which is for imaging a drive or partition and has nothing to do with pictures. Your ISO selection makes me suspect that is what you are fooling with.

Or use the guide for starting a multi-session data CD if you are not filling the CD and want to add more sessions. Use the start a non multi-session if you are filling the CD. To write a second session use the continue a multi-session: http://www.nero.com/en/content/c1034060180057.html

Great help. Thanks. I'm home free, i.e. it worked. Also, I needed to upgrade my graphics viewer with the latest plugins.

You shouldn’t need plugins for JPGs. I have the plugins for Irfanview and don’t use the extra stuff much – nice to have it though and the price is right. Irfanview does a crappy job with my raw images so I defaulted them back to the regular program. Otherwise it is great.

Burning software confuses a lot of people with the “image” thing. They should have chosen a better term.
