Okay, I have Nero Burning Rom on our old computer because there are a few songs I'd like to burn on it. Well, I'v eused Nero before at my friend's house and I figured out how to burn the cd but it won't finilize it. Since the songs are on the computer (I'm not just burning a cd) I just add them etc. Then it'll go through the burn process and it says it burned sucessfully but it doesn't automaticly finilize it and I've tried everything but it's just being stupid and confusing. So please, does anyone know what I could do? Lol. This was my last resort, if I dson't figure it out soon either I'll trow the computer out the window or just get rid of Nero. *Hee...I have a short temper* Well...please help..and thanks, like always!
That option isn't avaible, it's like, er, not clickable, you know how it like doesn't show the words in black font but is like in the background. Plus, I noticed something...next to where it says the drag and drop stuff, mine says "Image Recorder" even though I'm creating an audio cd.....

Nero finalizes audio cd's automatically by default. You shouldn't have to finalize an audio cd. What's the problem with the burnt cd's princesschic, do they not play? What formats are the files you're buring?
Scarletgoku, you're playing with fire there. Have you met her Mom? You may do soon.
I get on very well with her . . . . . . . . . and she still scares me!
Hi Princess,
The image has to do with the type of technology being used when the burn is done. It means that the cd is copied and burned as one image of the content you are burning. Some software burns track by track with pauses in between. Burning with an image avoids possible missing data due to possible varying burn rates between the source and destination of tha data you are burning.
I agree that you should not have to finalize.
I find that using windows media player with Roxio burning software works a lot better than nero burning software when burning various tracks as opposed to a whole CD.
Her mom's user name is littlemar and I don't know what was deleted but I'm not real thrilled. princess is 13 so please conduct yourself with restraint. Now let's shake hands and forget about it as long as you behave.
An image just means that you have elected the store the image of your recording on the hard drive as an intermediate step rather than record directly. It shouldnt really apply when recording tracks already on the hard drive. Nero is just making an image of what you want to record on the hard drive. It cant close the CD since you are effectively just recording back to the hard drive.
These are the instructions for making an audio CD from files on the hard drive in Nero 5:
If you wish to create an audio CD from data (.wav, .mp3, .vqf )
on the hard disk of your PC, proceed as follows:
You have already started the Nero program and the Wizard is
activated. If the Wizard is not active, then please refer to
Page 14 to find out how to activate the Wizard.
1. Activate Compile a new CD and click on Next.
2. Activate the Audio CD and click on Next.
To continue with the next step, click on Finish in the info
window.
The ISO compilation window opens.
3. Compile the files by dragging the required files from the
File Browser and dropping them into the compilation
window. .wav, .mp3 or .vqf files can be selected. Nero
decodes these on-the-fly which means that the CDs can
be played on all standard audio CD players.
4. Make sure that the total size of all of the tracks does not
exceed the CD capacity. This is indicated by the blue bar
at the lower edge of the screen
5. To prepare the actual burning operation, click on (record icon) or
select File | Write CD. The Nero Wizard (Burn CD)
window is displayed.
6. You can start burning with and without a prior test run or
you can only simulate the burning operation. Select which
burning operation you wish to use (refer to Page 13).
7. Make certain that the Create image checkbox is not
active. More detailed information on this is provided in
Section 3.2.4 Compiling and burning an image file.
8. Select the required write speed from the list.
9. Click on Burn to start burning.
10. Insert an empty CD into the CD burner.
11. All of the selected steps are now executed one after the
other up to the actual burning. A status window is
displayed where the individual steps are shown so that
you can see exactly what is happening.
The last message then appears, e. g.: "Burnprocess done
successfully at 8x (1200 KB/s)".
12. The CD is then ejected. Click on OK.
13. Click on Discard to close the window which displayed the
burning operation protocol.
14. Check your new CD by re-inserting it into the CD recorder
and clicking on (info icon) or select CD-Recorder | CD-Info.
The CD Info is then displayed.
Click on File | New to burn another CD and the Wizard will
guide you again through the individual menus.

*shakes hands* 8D that thing that was removed was not about your daughter it was something really gross about another girl ewwww 8P i don't talk about stuff that you probably think i was talking about
Okay...it still won't work. I'm going to experiment a few more times then just get Roxio. Thanks for all your help!
As for you, scarletgoku , three little words: get a life.
Plus sorry, I'm taken and I hate to burst your lil happy-go-lucky bubble, but I'm older. Oh dang.
Well thanks everyone...
((Haha..my last comment made we sound like a biatch *ya can't yell at me for dat ma...*))
Princess you should not have to purchase roxio software unless you want to burn at a "faster" rate. I was not clear in my earlier e-mail. Roxio software actually comes embedded in Windows Media Player. If you want the best version of Roxio you can purchase it. You can download the latest version of Windows Media from microsoft @ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp
It is slower than nero but works well. I like the catolog presentation of the music and media it has.

Select the proper CD drive under Recorders, Choose Recorder. You want the actual drive, not the Image Recorder. Nero will burn music as well (or better IMO) than Roxio, and there's no reason to spend money on capability you already have.
HI folks,
First post and don't mean to jump in but I need help...
when I try to burn photos that are psd/gif files I get an internal error cvcddoc and they will not burn. any ideas?:
FreezeFrame you best start a new thread for that problem. WHen you do, please post if it works when you burn other files such as JPEG photos, or music.
brendandonhu,
I should have explained that this is the problem,
as it will burn music and jpeg. I printed out the directions for burning a "simple photo cd"in the Video cd tab. When I drag the photos that I have manipulated in ps6 @ psd or saved it as a gif for email It scans the file and gives an error message ie:
internal error in cvcddoc:is propermedialtem:
c:\windows\desktop\photoshop pictures\cn logo.psd
I've been using Nero for a year...and it is set to automatically finalize your cd's no matter what type of burning options you choose...whether it be data, img, etc.
Just for the record, the difference between DAO (Disc-at-Once) and TAO (Track-at-Once):
Disc-at-Once should be used primarily with recording audio discs. Disc-at-Once is designed to eliminate the 2 second gap that is between the audio tracks on an original audio CD after it is recorded. If you choose the Disc-at-Once feature during the recording process, the final copied CD will not have the 2 second gap in between tracks and the music will be continual play. Not all CD recorders support Disk-at-Once. Track-at-Once can be used for both data and audio discs. Track-at-Once keeps the 2 second gap between the audio tracks. When recording in Disc-at-Once mode the laser on the drive stays on continuously while during the Track-at-Once mode recording, the laser will turn off and on in between the tracks.
If you select audio files directly from an audio CD in a drive, you cannot specify a CD Text for the CD because audio files that have a drive as the source can only be burned in track-at-once mode. CD Text can only be burned in disc-at-once mode.
