NERO Problems

    Hey all. I am new. If I am posting this to the wrong section please let me know... I ma having problems burning a CD with Nero...

    Whenever I press the BURN button, it automatically ejects the CD before it burns.

    I get the following message. What does it mean, and how do I fix it?

    The recorder does not support this type of media
    please insert a correct medium to write to

    Medium required for the compilation CD-R/RW

    Medium type in recorder:Empty

    Have you started burning with a new kind of cd?

    Nope.... They have both been Memorex CD-RW'a

    I guess they are a bit different in that one is a "4X 700MB 80 Min" and the newest ones, which are the trouble makers are "Ultra Speed 24X 700MB 80 Min"

    I really don't use nero so im not sure. however it may be your burning a different kind of format? like a .mpg, but not mpg lol

    i am not sure sorry man it was a guess :(

    The faster media (24x) may simply be incompatable with the burner. It may possibly not meet their minimum speed, CD-RW are about the flakiest media there is. Best avoided, CD-R is more reliable.

    did you do the nero speed tests first? i think if you didn't you should it might fix it for you:)

    24x is about as fast as it gets with RW discs - are you sure your drive supports this speed for RW discs?
    Even if it does, it's still probably the disc. Change it and use a CDR disc as per Kiwiguy's answer.
