Very simple questions. My current version of .NET framework is 1.1 whatever. I have downloaded some software that requires .NET Framework v2.0.50727. First, would downloading it foul up my computer in any way? Second, is there a site out there where I can download it as freeware? I've searched all over the net and haven't been able to find an answer to either question.

    First Name:

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and 2.0 are the only versions that you probably need at this point to install and run some programs and drivers.

Hold off installing versions 3.5 and 4.0 until and if you really need them.
