i have a netgear wireless router that has a non secure channel set as default. well, i thought i finally managed to compuicate with the router and the network card to set up the 64 bit WEP. all was good and running fast but this morning i woke to being off line and my system picking up three other wireless networks. all that have the WEP security set. i guess i'm a little confused as to why i keep trying to find other networks. my signal shows that it is strong.

    any help???

    thanks
    Lori

You can configure your system to only connect to preferred networks, and then only put your router in the preferred network list.

You just don't add them to the preferred networks list. You can't really get rid of the detection of the networks.

I worry about that kitty cat getting a very sore shoulder from the recoil. :) Yeah, I know that will make no sense after you change your avatar (that everybody refused to comment upon until now).

He's here until he starts missing, then I'll have to call up replacements. :)
