Every time I boot up right before my desktop comes up, a Netmeeting box opens to sign on which I never use...How can I get it to not come up and second....in my dial up connection box why wont it save my password? The box is there to save it but it is never highlighted. My old computer used to save everything. I would open up Outlook Express and the box would come up and I would just connect........thank you in advance.

    Hi pooncat

See if this article helps with the dial up password issue:
Save Password Check Box Is Unavailable

Which operating system are you using?

    Open NetMeeting,
Tools > Options > General tab
Uncheck: Run when Windows starts and notify me of incoming calls
Apply, OK to save and close.
    Close the NetMeeting window.
Reboot to test for the NetMeeting window at startup.

    Or, you can uninstall NetMeeting,
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Windows Setup tab
    Highlight/Select: Communications
    Click the Details button.
Scroll down to Microsoft NetMeeting and uncheck it.
    OK your way out.

Let us know if that makes a difference or not.

Well that isn't helpful, is it?

Are you using Windows 98 First Edition or Second Edition?
Is there a Netmeeting listed in Add/Remove Programs, under the Install/Uninstall tab?
Or in the Start Menu or the Startup Folder?

Did the link help with geting the password to save?

    Right click
    My Computer > Properties
If you have Windows 98 First Edition, on the General tab it should say:
    System:
    Microsoft Windows 98
    4.10.1998

If you have Windows 98 SE installed the number is different.

After uninstalling Netmeeting, is the box still appearing after you reboot?

For the password, when you start up the computer, do you need to logon or does the computer load the Desktop without further action from you?
