I just downloaded netscape 7.1 over 4.79. Having problems with email. Can't seem to receive any. I did receive my acknowledgement from this site-TECH SUPPORT. Also where the inbox, drafts, sentmail, etc. are there are just icons with no text. Its much easier to read if it spells out inbox, etc. When I compose email it asks for address, I put it in but I never see it on the email form like I did before.
One other thing--I still have netscape 4.79 loaded. I thought when I downloaded 7.1 it would disappear.

There seems to be no one I can ask about my email settings from Netscape without paying for it.

I am retired and anything but an expert. Any help please.

    Welcome to TSG :)

Netscape 7 does not install everything the same as 4.x does.

Just how did you do the install? If netscape 7 was installed in it's default location it is in C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\profilename\xxxxxxxx.slt\Mail\accountname (Depending on your OS)

I would back up the netscape 4 user folder and if you have email in netscape 7 back it up also but I am guessing you don't.
No netscape 4 will not go away by installing netscape 7.

You may have Netscape 7 install ok but it did no import the user folder from netscape right. Read the " Performing a "Clean" Install for Netscape 7.xx or Mozilla 1.xx" and it will tell you how to " Copy from the OLD profile, and paste into the NEW profile".
Read the " Mail and Address Book " http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/index6.html#7mailab
