Recently, my wife and I installed dial up Netscape Internet Service on our computer (running XP). The problem is, whenever we do something offline, the Netscape dialer pops up and wants to connect. This is so annoying.

I changed the dial up setting to “Never dial a connection” in the control panel (control panel / internet options / connections) and thought I had solved the issue. But the Netscape program / dialer detects the changes and sets it back to “Dial whenever a network connection is not present,” so it continues to dial out whenever we’re offline. This program is sneaky (it changes settings behind my back). Is there any way I can make my dial up and connection settings permanent so the program can’t change them? Maybe there is a program to stop this kind of thing? We really like the internet service otherwise and would like to keep it. Any help would be good.

I think if you go to the Dial-Up Networking and click on the dial up account there that it is in there someplace. Don't have any dial up to look at so can only guess.
