I am using Windows ME and running Netscape 4.5 version and I cannot get my e-mail cuz I keep getting a message like this: "A Network error occurred while Netscape was receiving data. (Network error: Connection reset by peer). Try connecting again." I disabled my Norton antivirus and tried to get my mail but that didn't help either. Please tell me what to do. Thanks.

    Hi,

Unfortunately, almost all sources of info indicate that this is a problem with your ISP, or the conditions of your line. If you can access the internet, then try upgrading your version of Netscape.
Otherwise, you should probably contact your ISP and let them know.

    Good Luck,

    Columbo:)

I have to agree with the above but found myself in a very similar situation with Norton and NetScape together. I finally uninstalled Norton and let Netscape do its' thing as far as setup for my mail. I then reinstalled Norton and clicked on the virus protection for any email programs and it did a little jig at firt and asked for my password but all is back to normal. I tried everything else first including taking the virus scanner off my email with no results. I guess you have to get Norton out of the system, reboot, reconnect, reset and then close out and reinstall. Worked for me.

    countrygirl2u2,

    Welcome to TSG

My bet it is your ISP email server.
    Call your ISP.
