I just turned on my desktop and it couldn't access the internet. Laptop's okay. They use the same switch & connection. Task Manager reports the ambiguous "no active network adapters found" but unlike other threads I have found, there is nothing in device manager. The category "network adapter" is nowhere to be found. The jack is native motherboard. I have no clue what could have caused this, it was out of the blue. The port has its green light on but the yellow light is off.

Checked out the page for GA-P35-DS3L motherboard. Should I try installing the adapter driver?

If there is an "unknown" or "other" device needing a driver you can hope that's the adapter and try installing the driver.

Check the BIOS (Setup). It may have become disabled there and you can simply enable it.

Probably it died and you will need a PCI (if you have a spare slot) or USB ethernet adapter.
