I see a few threads like this, but none exactly like it. I am in a house with 3 others, one has an independent internet, and me and the other guy are trying to share. He gets net fine, but when we route a new cord, or any cord, into my Acer Aspire 5610 laptop it simply says that I am connected to an Unidentified Network, Local Access only, and it has done this since the beginning, even when we were all linked together, they would get net, I would get that, no matter how many cords we switched. I managed to hook up to the network once or twice, but on of them would always have problems, and the only way to fix them would involve me getting screwed somehow. Is there any settings that could be preventing me from finding the network, or more specifically the internet part? I got an IPCONFIG, just in case it'll help. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I know next to nothing about network connection, but I was wondering about DHCP showing as not enabled... Both of my Vista machines have that service enabled.

DHCP Client svchost.exe ---> Manages network configuration by registering and updating Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and Domain Name System (DNS) names.

Sounds like a good place to start, how would I activate it on tunnel 6, when I check out my task manager it says it is on, but it's not on for what I need...<3 Technology and my reliance on it.
