Turned on the computer the other day and the task bar was all white, said quicklaunch encountered a problem and had to close, and all my network connections are gone, no internet. The computer was running extremely slow as well. Thought it was Norton antivirus since I just upgraded to 2009, which was working fine until I set up their password encryption settings. After that came all the problems, but could just be a coincidence. When I uninstalled Norton, the computer was running much faster tho.

Thought it could be a virus. Did a bunch of antivirus stuff (Help from Neoark, you're awesome) but found out it wasn't the case. Discovered that my svchost.exe is missing. Ran sfc /scanner but when I tried to run the windows installer said it could not verify its integritym and to make sure Crypto Services was running. When tried to start Crypto, Error 2: cannot find file comes up. Also catroot2 folder in w32 folder is not there.

Could anyone please assist? Any advise would be well appreciated.
