Lubuntu 11.10; Atheros AR8132 PCI-E Ethernet card; Realtek RTL8191SE
Wireless Lan 802.11n PCI-E NIC. Toshiba laptop Satellite T110.
Dual boot through Grub, Win 7 Pro sp1; and Lubuntu.
When I connect with either wireless or ethernet on the Win 7 partiton, no problems.
However, in the Lubuntu partition, I get a connection (network tool tells me the speed of the connection, etc; and the wireless or Ethernet connection icon appears in the task bar); however the browser will not start the home page (standard "no connection" error message etc); same with Thunderbird.
This error has only happened in the last couple of days; previously no issues at all starting from Lubuntu.
One thing that did happen - not sure if this caused it; had to rush to the airport the other day; the pc was locked with a screensaver in Lubuntu; i couldn't awaken it to shut down, so I used the power button - just mentioning this as a possible clue.
ifconfig shows all RX & TX as errors, and I can ping the router ok.
Any help to get me back on air would be really appreciated!
