evening,

can ANYONE help please? (apols in advance for lack of tech phrases) I have 2 home pc's both running xp pro with nic cards in both, connected via (that phone connection looking wire) cable.

PC A = Direct connection to net.
PC B = Can access the internet thru PC A.

thru file sharing I can alter a text doc in shared folder on PC A and its updated immediately on PC B and vice versa. And can 'trade' files between to 2. (Can map the drives so I got Z drive as a shared folder, which is on PC B)

Tried fiddling with protocols and various other things I've read but think I'm doing more harm than good.

I've been trying in vain to get them up together for a LAN game, but no joy. Once I host a LAN game on PC A and fire up the game on PC B, it doesnt see the game hosted.

Probs I've noticed are:

when I goto view workgroup computers:

PC A see's nothing and I get error.
PC B see's 'itself' and nothing else.
neither wants to see the other.

both have same workgroup name and can share between each other, but dont seem to see each other somehow?

ANY help welcomed.
(with the exception of get out of here and go dust of ya Amstrad 464 and go back to playing sabouter and roland in time)

Thanks.
