Hi All, I'm new here and hope someone can help with this little problem I have [IMG]
I have a Desktop (Matt's Computer) and a Laptop (Msrlaptop) that are networked via a wireless router. All the drives on both machines are shared on the network. On the Desktop I am able to access the drives from the laptop via My Computer, but on the laptop I can only view the shared drives via My Network Places - I'd like to view them in My Computer.
    Thanks :)

    Hello.

In My Computer select Tools->Map Network Drive, assign a drive letter and in the Folder field enter the network path to the drive.

You will need to map those network drives and assign them to letters.

thanks guys, but as you can see from the 1st attachment - on my desktop, my laptop drives are clearly visible in My Computer without having had to have been Mapped.

    any clues???

Have you tried mapping them on your laptop?

The drives from the Desktop can be mapped to the Laptop, with the exception of my USB hard disk which refuses to be accessible! :)

    Is the USB disk shared?

yes, the USB disk is shared, but I cannot connect to it remotely.

with regards to the My Computer thing, I don't think it's got anything to do with mapping because I didn't have to map the drives on the Desktop.

    anyone?

Right click on the drive, choose Properties, click on the Security tab. Check what are the priviledges for the other computer's username.
