Hey. so I split my C: drive the other day, and made a partition F:(About 100GB).
I am trying to share it. I do it through IP and everytime I do it and I enter the networking password, it loads and then says Bad spelling or Bad Network. When I click diagnose, it says that I dont have the permission to access the share.

On the PC that contains the drive, I can see in explorer my Laptop but when I choose/add permissions, only location of users/groups is that pc holding the drive itself. there I cannot acces the other computer that I want to share it to.
How do I give other computer a full read write permission to the drive? I encrypted the drive. is that the problem?

Well, it depends on which operating system you have. But as a general rule you'll set the advanced sharing options to share, not password protected. Then connect to the machine with the correct credentials. Which typically would be "Name of the host\user id"
Where the id is the name of the person logged in to the host.

A bit confusing, I know, but actually fairly simple.

For instance. If the maching where you share the folder/drive is called "machine1" and the username is "bob". Then you'd map a network drive on the other machine, using different credentials, where you use "Machine1\bob" as the login name.

Again, depending on the OS on the machines, there are other things to set up. For instance, you may have to enable the 40bit sharing on the host.

I hope this isn't too confusing for you. I'm afraid I probably didn't explain it too well.

Not confusing at all. I understand it. thats what I did. but I am somehow not catching that 40bit sharing thing.

Are you trying to share across the network to other local computer or to some where on the internet?

I do not understand why you are " I do it through IP" ?

I assume that IP is your Internet provider?
Local sharing is done through Windows Explorer or as in Windows 10 "File Manger".
Right click the drive, select Properties, and then the Sharing tab.
