What is a good source for networking configuring information? ie website with detailed steps on connections, tcpip settings etc.

I need to get a Vista machine to see a networked printer again. :(

Have had a series of setbacks - new modem/router from my ISP displaced old router, then hard drive failure finally requiring a new drive and re-install of OS.

I had formerly set up static addresses for each item in my system, but now find that there is a mix of Homegroup and my former workgroup.

I 'network' about every 5 years when disaster strikes, so don't keep on top of the finer points.
At this point I do not care to elaborate on the details, and am only looking for pointers in getting Win7, Vista and a network drive and printer to play nice again!

    Thanks
    A C
