I recently purchased a new HP computer with windows vista. I want to network this computer with an older older computer with XP via a netgear wireless router I have had in use for a few years now. All I really want to do is transfer files from the old comp to new one. I recently reset the router because I could not remember the password. Somewhere on the new comp I stumbled upon a place that asked me for a passphrase. I put in that long set of characters thats on the router login page and the page said my passphrase was invalid. I don't know what to now. Can some one help

    Thanks in Advance

If you are talking about a WPA passphrase, disable encryption on the router and connect via wireless. Assuming success then re-enable WPA encryption on the router and remember (or write down) the passphrase you use.
