I am hoping someone can help me with this. I need to know the proper order in this chain.
I have 5 computers that need to be networked through 1 cable modem that gives me 4 static IP addresses. I have a brand new router and a brand new 8 port hub. How do I setup the hub and router so that 4 of my computers are each using a separate IP address and the last computer shares one through the router. Do I use straight RJ-45 cables, cross over cables, or both. I just can't figure it out. I'm using Windows XP Professional and in the chain I don't know what order to set the hub and router up and what kind of cables to run between them and the computers. Router has a WAN port and 4 regular ports and the hub has an uplink port and 7 regular ports.
Please helpppppp!!!

Thanks!
