I have several editing computers that I want to put on a network.
There's gonna be a server that can read and write on all the other systems and others will be given their respective permissions.
Now, I already got a quotation and this guy proposed some Cat6 cable he's gonna use. I don't have any idea. But what I want is:
    1. The Server will be able to see what the other systems are doing reel-time (audio/video). See the desktop... Total access.
What kinda network would you recommend? I want the best.

Net networking hardware (cabling, network cards, routers/switches, etc...) don't have any effect on what you can do on the network. CAT6 is a good type of cable to use for a small network.

If you are looking to monitor the workstations from the server, you would need something like SMS (called SCCM now), or possibly something like "LogMeIn", which is a remote desktop viewing utility.

Those are applications - software. The hardware would be the network cables, network cards, and switches/routers, as well as the computers and servers.
