How do I network my two computers so that we can see both of them?

That works great if all you want to do is share files from the two computers and thats it. There will not be any internet connection.
If you want that, then you will need to purchase a router and connect your modem to the WAN port on the router and then each PC to the LAN ports. You will still need to have both machines on the same workgroup name, but the IP address will be taken care of by the router as long as you configure it as a DHCP server as well. Most of the instructions with the router will be very helpful if you have never done this before. If you want to read about it before you go out and buy a router, then look here.

Hope this helps, and Good Luck.
