New ATI video card

    does anyone have any info on the new ati video card comming out soon... i have seen the reviews on the new nvidia one and it looks pritty sweet with 16pipelines but the ati one i am sure is going to be better .... anyone who has info on it or a website that would be awsome thanks

    anandtech is your friend.

    The early word is that the NV40's are honest-to-goodness Radeon killers. nVidia MAY be taking back the crown.

    Personally, I just buy whatever is best at the moment (price is an issue too), and smile. My last purchase was a Sapphire Radeon 9800 PRO to replace my aging (and well loved) GF4ti4600.

    Being a fanboy of either company can seriously hamper your enjoyment of THE GAMES, man, THE GAMES! (Note: the 'fanboy thing' only applies to vid cards, mobos, hdd's, ram, etc. Processors are exempt cuz AMD > * ;) )

    is it an entirely different setup from the current models, or just an update.

    From what I surmise, the R420 and the NV40 are "new" architectures, and not just speed bumps to existing proc'ys.

    Think I'll go pre-order Doom 3 now.
