New board and xp will not boot

    New board and xp will not boot????:confused: Is ther a way to fix this without re-installing? Any reply would be a help!!

    What exactly is happening when the computer boots?

    would help to have more specific info as to system
    did you install new mobo?

    New board and it will not boot into xp? Also had new video card. removed card and went with a old ati card with no luck. Does xp freak with this big a hardware change?

    H.D. had no problems before this it checked out fine with trouble shooter and pc certify??

    Unit will not boot to safe mod or last good config

    It is normally a good idea to reinstall if you are changing Motherboards especially if you are changing to a different chipset and cpu. What motherboard and cpu did you have before and what do you have now.

    Microsoft recommend a Repair installation after a MB change.
    All software etc will be unaffected but you will have to reinstall all XP updates unless you have them on disk.
