I am looking into purchasing a new desktop computer, possibly a gaming computer that I can play my games and use some of my programs on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you very much.

I would recommend building your own. While buying one is faster, it is often more expensive. Additionally, you can customize the pc if you build it, allowing you to be certain that it will work with the applications.
