New computer transfer

    is there an easy way to transfer all data to a new computer from an old one?

    Yes there is. Well, it depends on several factors. 1. Exactly what do you call Data. 2. WHat's the OS' running on both machines. 3. Do you have both machines up and running?
    As you probably know. Installed programs cannot be transferred. They have to be re-installed.
    If you have both machines up and running you can share the Data folder(s) on one and access them from the other. How all depends on the OS' that are installed.
    Lastly, and that's the way I normally go when pwople aren't sure what they want to transfer. Is to install the "old" hard drive as a second drive in the new one. THen you can pick and choose what you want to transfer. That may mean that you have to transfer ownership of the disk to the new user. Which will mean that you can't put it back and have it work as it did before.

    So, in essence. Give some more details on the OS' of both and also as to what you want to transfer. We'll then be able to give you more detailed instructions as to how.
