Last night I bought a new DellXPS13 and this morning turned it on. It has a plastic smell after booting it up that caused my nose to burn. When I started charging it it had a slight burning smell, never had this experience with other new laptops in the past. Some say this is normal and will stop in a few days and some say I should return it. Any input?

It seems to have stopped but the first 30 - 45 minutes there was a burning smell which is cause for concern. Yes I will return it and get a replacement. Thanks

you can get an electronics type smell - go into an electrical shop and you will smell it - but not a burning smell - I have never found that
not enough to cause your nose to burn

i probably setup a new laptop maybe once every couple of weeks on average
Setup about 6 so far this year and not found that issue
