    Hi everyone,
I bought this today. i installed it according to the manual and everything was okay. the computer detects it and everything. But, when i tried to play a movie, it was making A LOT of noise while it was scanning or reading the disk....please help.

I already have a cd-rw installed (slave) and this new dvd burner and cd-burner combo is my master.

    Please help.

    I have windows xp pro

I'm not trying to be funny, but did you check the screws? I;ve seen screw vibrate out on highspeed drives. Also maybe its defective? try and see if you can return it.

Torment was "probably"? refering to the mounting screws.

But now with your new problem...take it back!!!!

Was it a cheapie or a name brand?

Oooops, didn't notice your Link. Don't know who manufactures that unit, but the specs and the box look good. ;)
