I just received an email with an ".email" suffix. When I attempt to read it I get this message:
"This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folders Options control panel."

    What association should I use?

I would ask the sender what it uses. Sounds suspicious to me!

Use the same program as you do for .eml but be careful - scan it for virus first.
