I know you must get these sorts of suggestions a lot, but I would ask you to seriously consider this one:

Privacy

There is no forum category that exists here at TSG to really inform and discuss these sorts of topics which are very important that everyone with a computer understand. The topic doesn't quite fit into the General Security forum as it is different in nature from security although related to it.

Thanks for listening.

I would think it falls under the umbrella of General Security, imo. :)

Hi Cookiegal,

General Security is where I put my latest message thread, however, privacy is quite a different concern than security which is why I raise the issue.

I'm not sure I agree with this, Security is how you protect your privacy, seems to be a reasonable fit to me.

I'm guessing if we started creating forums at that granularity, we'd quickly mushroom to about five or ten times the number of forums. :)

Yeah it is important to keep the number of forums under control as the more forums you have, the more time consuming reading them is and that is a major concern to regular forum members. I agree with JohnWill and Karen as usual.

How about a 'sticky' within General Security to explain that this is the forum for privacy issues with some generic advice and suggested procedures/progs?

Hopefully, when we get the "TSG Library of Knowledge" expanded, it would reside there.
