Hi
I just add second hard drive (160g Maxtor 8mg) to my almost full 80g Maxtor 2mg. The new one is on a slave and is much faster than my older one.
I see on device manger that my primary ide channel device 0 has transfer
rate is only PIO mode and the device 1 transfer rate is ultra DMA 6.
I had problems burning DVD w my new lite-on dual layer.
I would like to switch my system to the new hard drive . What is the best
way to do it so I do not loose my old data? Will that help my system?
Thank you very much -Ted

You can go to Maxtor website and download the program they have to transfer from one HD to the other. You will probably find you have a better transfer rate with the new drive.
