new hardware

    I want to attach a external cd drive to my win 98 se machine. however when I attach it or my flash drive to the USB port nothing happens . ANY CLUES THANKS

    Does anything else, like a camera, work on your USB ports?
    Your CD drive and flash drive may require USB 2.0 ports. If that's the case, you can buy a USB 2.0 PCI card for under $20.
