    Hi, I just bought an upgrade (1 GB 200-PIN DDR2 SODIMM 128Mx64 PC2-5300) for a Dell Latitude D610. I was told I should install it into the DIMMA slot. However, the tech guy who worked on my computer last apparently either moved the existing (IGB) memory to the DIMMB slot. So... I installed the new thingy into the DIMMA slot and it is not showing up on my computer. What can I do? Thanks so much. I am pretty much a novice when it comes to Hardware...

    In addition when I install memory on a laptop/netbook, I do the following;
    1 Remove the battery
    2 Push and hold down the ON button for a few seconds
    3 System is now completely de-powered. Open memory bay and install/remove whatever memory you want.
    4 Replace battery and pw ON. Check that memory is detected, etc.
