I have gone through countless hours recently trying to get my wifes computer back up and running. started intermittently bsoding, then more frequent, then id boot, itd last 10 seconds, crash, and then freeze on "detecting storage devices"

i would let it sit for an hour, and the same thing would happen, boot to windows, crash then freeze on same page.

I removed all ram and vid card, tried again same problem, bought new hd, hooked up same problem, even when boot from cd would still freeze, so figured it was mobo.

bought new mobo, now comp runs smoothly, cept, I cannot load windows anymore, startup repair fails to help, and cannot access system restore.

I am really trying to save my old hd, as it seems it was never the problem to begin with....any help id appreciate.

its a gigabyte hd, m68mt-s2p, with a amd python II x4, please assist!!!

    thanks in advance...
    JOE

btw its a stop x07b error

When you installed the new MOBO, did you do a clean install if Win7? If you didn't you need too! With all the new hardware windows need to be installed new.

So with the install of the new motherboard they needed to register the key. OK!

Were where the pictures located on the old drive? So you can see the folder but the folder is empty? Right click the folder in question, Properties. What is the Size of the folder?
