New PC build

Hey folks,
I’m really struggling with a new PC build. I’ve done everything ‘they say on the tin’ but absolutely nothing is loading up. When I say nothing, I mean absolutely no power. Even the PSU’s fan isn’t morning. I’ve double checked all the connections and everything seems as it should be.
HELP!

not sure what you have tried but you could try some basics.

check all wires are connected and the clips on the connectors are clipped in,

could try jumping the power button or plugging the reset button into the power button pins. The power button/wire might be damaged.

the AC power lead could be damaged

what hardware you got? (cpu,gpu,psu,mb)

could be a dead component, there are some good videos on youtube for finding out if anything is dead.

have you got it to boot in the past or is it the first time you tried booting?

so checklist, what have you connected
cpu in the mb obviously
ram is clicked in
gpu is clicked in
storage sata leads are in

then power
cpu 8/4 pin top lef of mb
motherboard 24pin
GPU power cables 6/8pin
and storage power

dont forget fans and cooling.

only plugin you keyboard and mouse for now, just in case something is causing problems.

let us know your hardware i can do some googling for you.

Have you read the guide at the top of the hw forum for problem builds? If not, do so. If you follow ALL of the steps, you will find the cause of your problem.
I've just done a PSU test
If you jumped pins with a paperclip, that test is less than useless; it does noting to test the pw supply under a load.
Post ALL of your exact specs; ie exact motherboard, exact processor, exact pw supply, etc, etc. Do not post "500W pw supply" Post the exact brand and model# Do that for ALL of your parts.

Common errors for inexperienced builders;
1 The 8/12pin aux/cpu pw connector not plugged in
2 Motherboard shorting to ground due to incorrect placement of standoffs
3 One or more parts not fully seated ie atx/aux pw connectors, ram, processor, etc
4 Parts not compatible [unknown since we have no idea what parts you used]
