I'm getting the 3 beeps when booting up...I doubled checked everything...ram is securely installed.

Here is what the exact specification say for my mobo

    Intel D845DBEG2 (Latest Driver installed)

Memory Capacity:Two 184-pin DIMM connectors supporting upto to double-sided DIMMS
Memory Type: Double Data Rate (DDR 266 or DDR200) SDRAM in 64mb, 128mb, 256mb and 512mb technologies
    Memory Voltage: 2.5

I'm currently using 256mb generic 266hmz pc2100...I went out and bought a Samsung ram with the same specs

Here are the exact sticker specs:
    PC2100, 512MB, 266, CL 2.5, ECC, REG

Like I said, I installed securley and get 3 beeps at boot up, I throw the old stick in and everything wirks fine, what's wrong with my new stick, did I not buy the right one?

    Thanks.

More likely incompatibility problem. Either try a BIOS update ( if there is one) or different stick .

You bought the wrong RAM. You bought registered ECC, you need unbuffered non-ECC.
