I have a Dell Dimension 8200 desktop. I ordered ram upgrades from 256mb to 512 mb. I followed all the directions and replaced 2 sticks indentified as 256 mb in Rimm space 1 &2. When I reconnected all of the connectors and pressed the on switch I heard intermittently a buzzing, the computer appeared to be booting up, but the fan appeared to labor, and I had no image appearing on my monitor. I wonder if someone could offer help in resolving this problem. I hope I haven't damaged my computer as I have done this several times on other computers without a problem.

    Thanks, McChuck

Put the old ram back in and see what happens.
If all is well, try the new ram again, maybe one stick at a time.
It could be bad ram or maybe it isn't set right.
